Statement

I create work to bring life to my daydreams and excitement to the mundane. My installations are magical and soft, filled with handmade gilded fruits and bedazzled lollipops. These spaces are free of hard edges and cold surfaces, painted in dazzling hues better together than apart. In my rooms, there’s emphasis on beauty in the smaller things and how they complement each other. Every one of these objects added is there for a reason, and meant to be interacted with. It’s important to me that whatever I make is an escape from reality for those who participate.

I work primarily in oil paint and watercolor, but in the 3rd dimension, I adore using clay and furniture to flesh out a space. If given the chance to enter my studio, it’s likely that you would find a small corner filled with tiny images collaged with brightly colored stickers and patterned tapes. This window into the style of work I’m creating is often representative of the headspace I’m in during any given moment. These small collages are the biggest contributor to the paintings and sculptures I create, helping center ideas I have for upcoming projects. Currently my paintings have a focus on memorializing different moments throughout my life that I cherish, or take me back to a moment of indescribable joy.
